About
As I created this space to share my writing, I found myself questioning the boundaries I would delimit.
Would it mainly be an ever-evolving memoir (intentionally) forgoing the boundary between life, politics, history, culture, creativity? Or, observations and musings on how contemporary social life turns conversation into surveillance? Essays embodying bouts of (hopeless) idealism followed by visions for structural changes? Or, perhaps, more fittingly for my interests, an interdisciplinary space where a piece discusses how post-war trauma gets embodied - through historical, psychological, artistic, and neurobiological lenses?
I turned to my (many) journals I’ve picked up along the way. In these journals resided many rough sketches, musings, and discussions with the self. Seeing all these lenses together–scattered across journals from different cities–was reminiscent of an indecision I remember all too painfully: how do I let one idea, one theme, one possibility, one city, go while choosing another?
I decided not to.
Because, in the words of my literature teacher, a beautiful nexus emerges when these–often siloed–spaces intersect.
So, dear reader: treat this space less as a repository and more as an ongoing, iterative experience of journeys, institutions, and memories, with epiphanies often building on one another.
